
Mr. DiFranco has more than 30+ years in both public and private sectors; first in fire suppression then code enforcement and fire scene investigations. At J.S. Held Mr. DiFranco is responsible for investigating fire and explosion incidents in commercial, residential, industrial facilities, automobiles, heavy equipment, transportation, and maritime investigations. Prior to joining J.S. Held LLC, Mr. DiFranco investigated, oversaw and managed resources for large scale fire and explosion incidents, nationally. Joe has extensive experience investigating fire and explosion events involving electrical and gas utilities.
Prior to that time, Mr. DiFranco served as President of the Fire Prevention Association of Massachusetts, President of the Fire Prevention Division of the Essex County Fire Chiefs Association, and twice as President of Metro Fire/Arson Investigators Association, all in Massachusetts. In those roles, Mr. DiFranco was responsible for providing continued education and training to that states fire code enforcement and fire investigation officials as well as being active legislatively at the state level.
Prior to his private sector work, Mr. DiFranco served 30 years as a professional, full time firefighter for the City of Peabody, Massachusetts, 12 of which were served as Senior Fire Investigator and Fire Prevention Officer and is additionally certified as a Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Specialist. He has testified in Juvenile, District, State and Federal Courts as to origin & cause and fire code related issues. Mr. DiFranco is domiciled in North Conway, New Hampshire and is available to investigate fires and explosions throughout New England and beyond.
