Product description

The Washburn Gas Regulator and Meter Guard is a sheet metal, fabricated hood or guard designed for exterior placement over gas regulators and gas meters for the purpose of providing enhanced protection from damage due to ice and snow.

The unit is 10 inches wide by 12 inches  tall by 8 inches deep, and is made by hand in Saint Anthony, Idaho by Clint Washburn of Washburn LLC. 

The “face” of the guard that is exposed to the elements is 10 inches by 10 inches and can accommodate the graphics of the propane marketer.   Decals are available as an option or can be sourced from the propane marketer’s existing sticker vendor.

The item is constructed by hand of 20 gauge galvanized steel. 1 inch flanges on the top and sides are for mounting to the building exterior and structural creases are strategically placed into the unit to add strength. Approximate weight per unit is 2 lbs 3oz.

          

     

Large quantities will be shipped in boxes of 10. Each box is 24.5 lbs, and 24” x 14” x 9”.

Smaller quantities will be shipped in boxes that will still be 14” x 9” and the length will be 12” for 1 and an additional inch for each additional unit.

Each one weighs approximately 2lbs, 3oz.

Sales Tax – as of January 2021, neither VPE or Idaho Washburn are assessing or collecting state sales tax for units sold.  If you are buying guards for a use where sales tax does apply, ie not for resale, you are responsible for the sales tax applicable to your taxing jurisdiction.

  • Q: How is the guard mounted to the building? 
    • A: Using the flanges on the top and sides of the guard, the installer will use appropriate fasteners for the exterior of the structure being mounted to. Flanges will need holes drilled to match the fasteners used.
  • Q: Are custom sized or painted guards available?
