This page summarizes a variety of issues for those with any interest in

  • presenting a topic at VPE
  • being interviewed for a VPE session
  • conducting an Education or Training session for a VPE session

This document should answer most of your questions. If not email us at [email protected]

Who is eligible to present at VPE sessions?

Presenting to the VPE attendees is limited to those with presentations that are of legitimate interest to the propane industry.   All:

  • Presenters must have a legitimate connection to the propane industry
  • Presenters must present on a topic that is of interest to propane retailers or the broader propane industry
  • Presenters, at a minimum, are required to take a free listing as a vendor on www.virtualproaneexpo.com
  • Presenters agree to promote VPE using normal and customary methods (website, social media, email, etc)
  • Presenters with a commercial interest in the propane market are asked to make a nominal monetary contribution
  • Presenters need to fill out the form at https://virtualpropaneexpo.com/presenter-registration-form/ to get the process started
  • We operate globally…overseas presenters welcome.

Why Present at VPE sessions?

VPE events will happen on Thursday afternoons starting at 2 p.m. EST, as long as VPE has content to present on that day. VPE Thursday events may contain as little as ONE session and as many as SIX sessions on any give Thursday.

Considerations: Live vs. pre-recorded presentations

  • speakers are generally less nervous without a live audience
  • pre-recorded sessions allow for more flexibility in scheduling
  • pre-recorded sessions allow for post-production editing. Any editing is left to presenters
  • Live sessions and speakers available for a Q&A and/or attendee chat are generally favored by audiences

Submissions, or Expressions of Interest

We ask that actual proposal submissions be given to VPE a month in advance of the potential session, however. VPE welcomes any and all submissions, or your expression of interest, at any time.  Please fill out the form at https://virtualpropaneexpo.com/presenter-registration-form/ to get the process started.

Submission and Presentation Requirements

Speakers may not use the session for company-specific sales pitches, self-promotion or criticism of competitors.

Presentation Scheduling aka “Sessions”

Sessions will be scheduled on the day of the Expo, generally between 2 p.m.and ending no later than 5 p.m., eastern standard time. Sessions are generally 30 minutes, and can be more, including presentation and a Q&A after-the-fact.

Presentation Materials

Speakers are required to provide VPE with their PowerPoint or other screen-ready materials in advance so VPE has an idea of how the sessions will flow as well as allowing VPE to suggest additions. Speaker(s) authorize VPE to publish or otherwise allow industry access to presentation materials used the day of the session, as well as allowing VPE to post materials online for download industry members at a later date.

Audio-Visual Requirements

All sessions will be made using VPE’s Go-To-Meeting ™ or similar platforms. Speakers will be responsible for securing relevant equipment on their end, including but not limited to computers with working microphones and cameras necessary to a successful session.

Expenses to VPE

VPE incurs non-billable expenses associated with the production and promotion of VPE and as such, does not pay speaker honorariums.

Selection and Notification

VPE will make reasonable efforts to review presentation submissions as quickly as possible (within 24 hours of receipt, typical).

Selection decisions are based on

  • the session’s relevance to the propane industry
  • speaker’s knowledge, experience, and qualifications
  • topic relevance as it relates to industry events at the time of submission
  • Level of detail (or lack thereof) on the proposed presentation outline
  • whether more than one submission on the same or similar topic for the same day were received
  • VPE’s need at the time for sponsor or presenter revenue necessary to VPE’s continuance

Expressions of Interest and actual submissions

If expressing interest, it would be helpful if you provide VPE with

  1. Description:  Your Session Description: a three to five sentence description and session title that summarizes the session. The description should be clear, concise and interesting. This text description will be published and used in VPE promotions, social media posts ( LinkedIn, etc)
  2. Outline: Session Outline: a one-page summary of your presentation, including: session purpose and objectives; intended learning outcome; and relevance to the propane industry.
  3. Credential Summary:  Speaker Credentials: Attach a brief bio, including qualifications for speaking on the session topic. Attach a bio and full contact information for each co-presenter.

The above will be required upon approval of your session so VPE can format your page on the site, as well as use this material in VPE promotional materials we publish.  VPE reserves the right to edit the above items as necessary.
